Fast Growing pleco

I need a nice pleco or 7 for the 200 gallon festae tank. Looking for a fast growing species that will hit 12+". I know it would be faster to buy big, but that can be prohibitively expensive. With the mass quantities of various species out there, I figured it would be best to ask here. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Common plecos grow the fastest.

Sailfin plecos grow pretty fast also.

I can assure you that clown plecos are not what you want. Lol. If you have a good LFS around you, I would check out what they have. I would think that large plecos should still be pretty cheap for the same reason a large red tail cat is still pretty cheap.

I can get a foot long Common Pleco at my lfs for $20. If you don't want to spend that much, you could get one at 3-4" for about $5.

I should have specified that I was looking more into exotic species. Sunshines, cactus, royals, etc.

Even small ones cost alot. You are looking at over $40...even up in the $100s

I'd look on craigslist. You can probably rescue some big ones from some jerk's 20 gallon koi tank for free.
