One of the things that I have always tried to instill in my children and grandchildren is the idea that you should not be afraid to make mistakes.
For one thing, everybody is going to make some. You are not special in that regard.
If you don’t know what to do if or you are afraid you’re going to do the wrong thing do something anyway. At the very least ask somebody, or talk about it with somebody, but do something.
A lot of great things were invented by accident and by mistake.
Plastics, photography, vulcanized rubber, gun cotton, and hundreds of others.
Even the bubble knife.
