Hi everyone and Happy New Year! I am working on something exciting for you all. It is a chance for you to get your photographs featured in a short book on Polypterids. It is a care guide and species identification booklet serving as an updated and expanded version of the care sheets from the sticky post. I'm keeping the details of the book private for now, but you will be seeing it soon!
Once the scientific consensus has settled on the taxonomy of some potentially undescribed species, I might decide to make this a full book following the release of The Snakehead Encyclopedia.
Rules:
The photos can be any of the Polypterids (Ropefish too)
Some photo ideas could include: a profile of a certain species, interactions between eachother, differences on different substrates, autopsy photos, preserved specimens, eggs, fry, hybrids, diseases, parasites etc. anything Polypterid related.
This is a collaborative project, so you will all be credited, the best photographs will receive a FREE copy of the book!
Thankyou guys and good luck!
Josh
I take image theft very seriously, so photographers are recommenced to watermark their images before posting them in a public thread. When picked, winners can then privately email their high quality photographs without the watermark to a secure email.
Footnote to admins.
Hey, please could you make this a sticky, would love for everyone to get an opportunity at submitting

Rules:
- Post your images in this thread
- Landscape format (but if you really want to show off one in portrait, please submit it still)
- Taken with an SLR, or high quality camera
- MUST be your own images
- Show the subject clearly (these images will be representing the species, so they have to be identifiable)
- A black background is preferred, but not necessary.
- You can use old images if you like and submit as many as you want.
