Hi i have a pair of motoros and iv been feeding them Night crawlers for about one month now the female will eat salmon but the male will only eat the worms im wanting to vary there diet a bit more but i can not get them to eat anything ells iv tried starving them for 4 days and they still refused other foods.

I would like to hear some ideas from you guys on how to get them to eat something ells and i also would like to know what you feed yours.

Thank you.

Thomas.

try chopping the nightcrawlers into many pieces and put the "pcs" in a bowl.
marinade the salmon or shrimp in the "worm marinade" for an hour or so.
Try feeding that to the motoro.

Just starve and try again if it doesnt work for the first time. it usually takes me a couple of times before my rays eat shrimps. I did have a couple of rays that will never ate shrimp no matter how i tried.

Thanks redtailfool i went out today and got some Barramundi fillets and they love it.
It is still not that cheap but a lot cheaper then the worms. Ill try what you said with the Prawns.

Thanks
Thomas

I guess I must have gotten -very- lucky with our female motoro at work (but she is very young still, four inches across), who went from thawed shrimp to NLS wafers overnight...she now eats about 6 wafers every two days, and is growing well.

You may want to add garlic to the fish; garlic is a great appetite stimulant.

Hi TaratronVaeVictus Very lucky yes that would be an understatement mine would be the most pickiest fish i have every had but they love the Barramundi and im happy to feed them that and some worms every now and again.

Add Garlic to the fish ill give that a go to, do you use fresh garlic?
