Mine changed a lot on color. Very lemon yellow at first, but now very bronze by comparison.
They definitely respond to colors in the tank. I had mine in a blue-back tank and his dark markings looked washed out and the yellows looked a bit greenish.

He's in a black-back now and I think he looks much bolder .

I like the brownish red color. He's a "keeper" for sure. Very nice.

Nice fins on Ferno, very full! Reminds me of a longfin O...he may go 'copper' later!

Yah black background is the way to go in my opinion!
