Here's a picture of one of my Red Terror grow outs, a real stunner considering he's only just pushing over 3.5" and showing the majority of his colors already. He has been kept in a tank with a more dominant RTM and a smaller Texas recently, so the colors would normally be much brighter. Although I am assuming he is a male based on patterns and colouration. Can anyone else reassure me on this? I've been considering pairing him up, so thought it would be a good idea to create this thread to note progression and any development on from this.

Let me know what you guys think? :)

Very cool. Festae are up there the "pretty fish" list when they're adults.

I was actually offered some free festae fry this morning. Damn my small tanks.

Yeah definitely a very pretty male. You know it's funny but I've grown fonder of the stunner males then the females.
Thanks. The same for me actually, I'm very happy with him.

joegriggs, What kind of tetra is that in your first photo?
How are they working out for you?
I tried a few different species with my Festae and nothing ever made it past a day before they were a snack.

Nice male by the way. lots of potential.
If he were the dominate fish in the tank you would see way more color out of him.
