As some of you will remember, I bought a trio of rays about 5 months ago, a BD hybrid male, BD hybrid female, and a super hybrid female. A week or so added a pure BD male as well. They inhabit a 560gal tank in my basement.
This morning when I went down to say g’day there was the clear evidence of mating floating around in the water. I had been told “oh you’ll know” when it happens. Know I know how true that statement is.
Not sure which male or which female as I hadn’t separated them into pairs as yet, but the BDH male did seem to be asserting his desire more persistently the last few days, and a big chunk off goop drifted out from under the BDH female when I turned the lights on. I guess we’ll find out in 90-100 days.
