Fishing in San Diego pier and beaches

Does anyone live in the sd area fish the beach or piers. I would like some info on that type of fishing would like to start doing that with my family sounds fun. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

OB PIER, IB PIER, both decent use squid or ghost shrimp.... Surf fishing...Mission beach and Dog beach....Blacks is best but the hike not really fun...

and then you have carlsbad, encenitas, del mar, torrey pines, oceanside, coronado etc.. they all hold fish.

ok i think you get it.. it doesn't matter where you go. just use the right bait.

i dislike pier fishing myself. id head for a jetti or surf fish. nice leopard shark in that photo!
