Its all starting to make sense now...
This is the reason we need to not support bills that will deny workers protection in the work place. That way I can refuse to do stuff like this, and not get fired. :D

I also am going to do the same, as well as see if my tangs like the algae growing on them, and if they do use its as a free fresh algae food source supplement :D lol
Most of my tangs will only pick at micro algae. That being said, some are better at it than others. Bristletooth tangs are detritivores mainly, but also feed on micro algaes. I figure that anything that breaks off while I am releasing pods into the tank will be eaten by my chevron.

I am working right now on getting the lights (most expensive part, even though I am planning on using clamp lights) and working on the design for my scrubber...running out of room in this 55g sump! :D

Depends what you want to do...if you want to feed tangs, I would say no, macro algaes would be better.

If you want to remove phosphates and nitrates, I would say that a scrubber is better. If you scrub a tank tank the "right way" apparently even chaeto will die off from not having enough nutrients. Macro algaes just cant keep up with micro algaes.

As far as pictures go...this camera has pushed me to the point where I now refuse to even attempt to take pictures.

Ill do another video once we get ALL the fish in the tank...so it will be a month or two most likely, unless there is something specific you want to see...then I might be able to try and snag a picture or two ha.

Woke up this morning to a dead chevron tang.

This would not have happend had I QT'ed this fish when I got him.

Another lesson learned.

Not sure what I will do tang wise now, might just leave it at the purple and the blue, although I think that is boring. Only issue is that now it will be increadibly hard for me to get another one in, QT it for two weeks, while also holding my other two tangs.

I have no more aquariums left to use as QT's!

The chevron was feeding better in QT than he did in DT, and was looking good minus a couple fin nips the night before. Found him this morning pretty well descaled on one side. It was strange.

I was talking about this earlier to someone in the business and they think there may or may not be some cyanide being used to capture fish. I would like to think not, after having personally dealt with these people...but Im starting to wonder with Dustin losing two flame wrasses and the strange death of my chevron.

There IS a baby sailfin right now at petco...he was calling my name. He is about half the size of the purple though and I dont know if he could take the abuse once they were all in there together.

I'm sorry to hear that it always sucks losing a fish. This is making me a bit hesitant of ordering fish from that supplier now though.

bummer flesh.. maybe quarantine wouldve helped, maybe not.
Well, QT originally would have allowed to keep ich out of the system to begin with.

That being said, all this would have done was let us know for sure if it was cyanide or just aggression. I still dont think it was aggression though because I saw NO signs of this in QT. Only two or three altercations between the blue and the chev the whole time they were in the 125g together.

This is a bummer...dont know if I will get another (this will be hard, because it means holding the other two tangs in QT while I wait for, and QT another tang)

If I didnt have some questions myself...I would have picked up the chevy they have on their site today.

Thanks guys, this is the first fish I have lost in years.

Thanks ace.

Anyone see any conflicts personality wise in my stocking? I have never kept multiple wrasses.

The tang thing I am no longer worried about, that should be okay.

The goby/blenny relationship worries me a little, and then the interaction between all the wrasses as well.

My aunt currently has a at least 5 different gobies in a 50 gallon tank, which is being upgraded to a 75 gallon tomorrow. The only thing I notice is that one (Yellow Watchmen) is the boss, even if he's smaller then another goby. You shoudn't have any problems in a system like yours...btw did you ever get the website or something like that on selling corals? Also do you know a site that gives detailed info on certain corals like mushrooms? Thanks A Million

Hey, sorry to hear about your tang, what a beauty! I've never heard of those tangs until reading your thread (I read the entire thread), for that I thank you. Also it show's your a great reefer being able to have fish to thrive in a private aquarium setting for years without death...yesterday I lost one of my chromis lol.

I think it's because i removed my seaclone, and thier was no airation, so they started to breath really fast (I didn't know that skimmers give's airation), so now I have a tube of airbubbles in the tank currently to save my convict.

Also keep us updated Flesh always good to here and learn the strategies of a well known reefer........btw this is random I wished I lived in wisconsion to drive to fosters and smiths divers den..

So sorry for your lose. I've had similair instances in the past myself. I spent $75 a piece for 5 Caribe Piranha - they came in with ich, masive water change and quick ich dosing - in a hurry I didn't read the fine print "1/2 the recommended dosing for tetras" - next day the scales fell off of every caribe, they all were dead within 3 days. I've used mardel cletted cooper exclusively ever since. I've also seen this with multiple fish and bloat, sometimes the stomachs twist from too much protien gas, it can hit slow and curable - it can hit fast and deadly. When it hits fast the fish turn white even while they still are alive grasping on the bottom - for some reason or another while they are in this state it causes a feeding response to it's tankmates - they pick the scales right off the bloated fish.
