hello everyone,
I've recently got a bichir and he is looking pretty sick. He was fine, eating swimming etc until today when I noticed him floating up the top. I tried feeding and that helped for a little bit but he's back up there. What can I do

Yep he can, its just unusual because before he was swimming around heaps

I personally wouldn’t be worried that much but don’t take my words as 100% true, it would be most wise to wait for some other people to put in their opinions as well comrade.

Like fishhead0103666 stated common for bichirs to stay at the top especially young Senegal Polypterus they feel more secure. if it was floating with tail up then there would be a issue with air or bloat. The Senegal is very young will grow out of staying up at the top.
