I’ll be honest, I don’t know entirely what I’m doing, I’ve never had a fish this young and I mean young like this guy is tiny but I don’t know if he’s eating enough the last couple days I’ve had him every morning I’ve put a sinking cichlid pellet in for him and he always eats about half of it and I scoop the other half out and this morning he also ate he actually ate all of it which I was impressed by cause he’s so small and just 30 minutes ago I put a blood worms cube in for him and he at 1 blood worm and went back to hiding so I just scooped the rest out, I know he’s eating but I’m not sure if he’s eating enough

How long has the tank been cycled?
Try smaller food and also flowerhorns are very temperamental after moves, more than oscars.

I’m using water I’ve had stores in my room for a month (my mom used it for water changes but now we know that our tap water doesn’t have any chlorine in it so she’s been using that and doing smaller water changes) so the water is cycled I’ve tested it several times and the and the water parameters are good, the only smaller food I have are betta bites but they’re way too small the current pellets should be small enough image.jpgimage.jpg

i crush krill pellets and algae wafers for flowerhorns under 4”. if you dont think hes getting enough give him a frozen food preferably spirulina brineshrimp.

the betta bites would be an appropriately sized pellet. those cichlid pellets are not a good size. small or 1mm would be appropriate.

is he by himself?

I also like to feed flakes to my smaller fish. Very easy for any fish to eat and it helps to grow them quick enough to get big stuff.
Crushing pellets is also a good idea. I did that for my clownfish and they go crazy over it!
Also look into hikari foods, they take on a live-food like consistency and are very easy for fish to eat.

for some reason ive personally never gotten one to accept tetra flakes but ive never tried another brand. the flakes get spat out and make a huge mess.
