Just got a new red dragon flowerhorn, he’s about 3.5 inch or so. He just seems a little wired I currently own 2 othe flowerhorns and I don’t get the weird behaviors from them. He is very skittish, sometimes darts around even if I’m not moving. He seems kind of dark in my opinion. And seems to be laboring a little and the occasional “yawn”. I’ve had him for 4 or 5 days now. He’s in a 60 gallon cube by himself. He wouldn’t eat so finally yesterday I broke down and fed him a feeder guppy and he ate it as soon as he saw it, but won’t accept any of the 300 other foods I’ve tried. Floating and sinking pellets, floating sticks, brine shrimp, blood worms, krill. Nothing seems to entice him, he also seems kind of green in the face is this a problem? Or just his coloration?

Would guess just coloration. Don’t think it sick. I assume ur tank is cycled. Unfortunately you may have to starve him several days and offer food. Can add some garlic to the food.

Yes the tank is fine I filed it up a couple days before I got him and brought a canister filter over from my 125 that was cycled. Tests all read 0 except nitrate around 15ppm. He’s starting to eat he’s just a very passive eater.. my female eats like crazy, and my Oscar and other male flowerhorn won’t stop eating. Never had a problem getting a flowerhorn to eat lol

He is new in the tank still. Will probably come around in another week or two. He will eat eventually.
I guess you're going for the bare flowerhorn tank look. Which I know a lot of FH keepers like. But the fish would probably come around sooner with some floating plants, real or fake. Would give him a sense of cover.
