Ive been reading allot of threads of the Fluval FX5 and FX6 blowing micro bubbles.
Mine starting doing it a couple of days ago after a media change, I found my problem was that after 8 years the lid was being pulled down tighter at the screw clamps and allowing the area between clamp to separate the lid is still flat (perfectly) its the canister itself that has (for lack of better words) sagged down ever so slightly allowing air to be pulled in, when leaning it over the sink after a few min it will begin to drip ever so slightly.
I think I'm going to by tiny clamps to put between the screw clamps to fix it but for now (since its a suction leak) I put a couple passes of electrical tape around the seal and it working perfectly once again!
Hope this helps someone from needing to buy another filter I almost did!
