Not Bleheri.
Channa sp. Assam.

i am looking for this statement yesterday,,
can you explain it?
cause i have one of them

Hi Julien,

nice tank, but a littkle bit more surface plants would be really appreciated by ypur channa.
By the way, these are NOT Channa bleheri. You have a yet scientifically not described species called Channa sp. "Assam", or "lal cheng".
Sadly they are often sold as bleheri or blue bleheri, but they arent bleheri at all.
bleheri are surface breeders/nestbulders, and sp. Assam are mouthbreeders.

But both species are subtropical, and should not be kept at tropical temperatures all the time.

Cheers

Oh... That's not cool, i have paid them for wilds specimens of Channa Bleheri...

Are you sure of the identification ? do you want more pics maybe ? they are just arrive (one week in the tank).

i have to read more thing on the sp. Assan now... i was in love of bleheri in part by the breeding way :(
(excuse me for my english... better reader than writter)

:WHOA: That's what I said! :WHOA:

I will listen you for the surface plants, more will be great!

So, I read that the sp. Assam should be kept at 22°Celsius, and shouldn't be kept higher ?

HI Julien,

they CAN be kept at higher Temperatrures, but not all the time !!
They need changing temperatures ("wintersimulation").

Cheers
