i was at my lfs today and saw what they said was a freshwater snowlflake moray eel. i have looked them up but all i can find about them is that they really aren't moray eels. what are the care and tank size requirements for these fish, what can the be kept with, and how big do they get?

I had mine in a 30 gallon with 2 Peacock Eels who were waiting for the big tank to be set up. They are great Eels and very active, mine would do laps everytime I turned the light on in my room. As for size he was just over a foot and a half before he died.

they are brackish water fish, will be pretty hardy in brackish or salt water. They will accept most frozen meaty foods (krill, shrimp, silversides, etc). Awesome fish, just need to be kept in appropriate water.

That is entirely false.

All 3 Freshwater Morays I've seen have grown and thrived in Freshwater for over a year... It seems if they're raised in it from very young it'll work out

while it can be kept a little longer in freshwater perhaps, gomezladdams is correct, this is a fish that is best kept in marine conditions or at least upper range brackish

These eels do not belong in freshwater. It will drastically shorten their lifespan and they will not make it to adulthood. I promise you this. It doesn't matter if someone did it for over a year - that is nothing in the lifespan of most fish.
