Hey all, thought I would do my buddy from another forum a favor and post this here. We are both a bit stumped on this. Long story, but basically a while ago he upgraded to a 60 gallon tank from his 20 gallon. His mom is a douche and refused to listen to him when he told her not to mess with the tank. She added a bunch of incompatible and sick fish multiple times and now he is battling ich and whatever this is on one of his lyretail mollies:

My best guess is that it is either an infected wound that never healed from tiger barbs that his mom put in the tank or something like columnaris from others she added. Not sure but it's nasty looking judging by the blurry pics. He said she is the only fish showing symptoms. She is apparently eating well and swimming around actively like nothing is wrong. He said his ammonia was looking a bit elevated, he says his tap water has over 1ppm naturally but he is using api ammo-lock and his nitrates are in an acceptable range. I'm guessing the meds he has been using could have damaged the cycle, he has been using this stuff along with the salt: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=21422
Never heard of it, so idk haha. Probably like pimafix or melafix, apparently it's an anti-parasitic. He is also using regular old salt.

The good news is he said the ich is starting to clear up after a week of treating it with salt and that stuff, I told him increase his water changes and temp to 86 since he only had it bumped to 80 since he was worried about his clown loaches. Apparently he doesn't have the means to get a quarantine setup yet due to spending money on bills and his other one got cracked really bad. He will have to keep treating the whole tank. The worst thing is that his mom continues to keep overstocking the tank by just dumping random fish she likes right in even when he begs her not to. He has no means to get these fish back to the store either. If only his mom would listen haha, this has happened several times. She is the type that refuses to believe anything about fishkeeping other than "they need water and a fishbowl and it worked for me before so I'm not changing or listening to you because you are younger than me". I only know him from the interwebs so there's no way I can show up and talk/smack some sense into that crazy woman haha.

Any ideers?
