Hello, i was wondering if I can use the 2 bulk heads to hook up a fx6 up to? I have a 40 gallon sump but I would like more filtration.

I wouldnt bother with an fx6 if u already have a 40 gallon with a good size return pump......just add enough bio media in the sump to sustain the stock ......you would be surprised at the poor flow rates of most canisters when full of media

+1 on this. I love my sumps far more than my fx6. The fx6's jam up FAST if you have them filled with mech filtration, mine right now is solely filled with bio media, and I prefer it that was MUCH more than having to tear it apart every 2-3 weeks.

Mine are the same way......i would rather fill an fx6 with just bio media and use a aquaclear 110 with just mechanical filteration for easy cleaning......but yet again i would prefer having just a sump over any canister or hob

I am currently running lava rocks, scrubbies and bio balls in the wet dry sump, I was thinking of using the fx6 to help polish the water. I figure it would be OK to use the bottom bulkheads to run an fx6 because it would be a closed network and wouldn't have issue air in the lines but I'm not sure if that would work or not. Don't need a flood lol

you'll want your intake higher than your output, could create an issue, but might be ok. your fx6 is going to shut off and flush the lines every day on its own so minimizing air in the lines is mute point haha.
