I have a group of young G. abalios in a peaceful SA cichlid tank with angelfish and a very mellow Electric Blue Acara. I also have a few cory catfish and a bristlenose pleco in there as the cleanup crew.
I was a bit concerned that between them all there might be too many janitors and some squabbling over resources might occur.
Needn't have worried. The G. abalios keep the sand sparkling. The cory cats mostly stick to nibbling biofilm off driftwood, plant leaves and rocks. The bristlenose pleco scrubs the glass. I make sure everyone gets their wafers or pellets at meal time and there is peace.
Might have to move a brooding pair to a honeymoon tank or pull the corys once the eartheaters are finally ready to pair off. But thus far they are working great together (though it's worth noting that G. abalios are very peaceful). Geos and other cleaning staff are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
