Hello folks, I am hoping for some help with a geophagus id. I bought these a few weeks ago as Geophagus red head tapajos (I know they are now known as Geophagus pyrocephalus). As they have grown a bit bigger I am starting to doubt this is the correct ID.
I know its hard when they are this small, but I'm seeing a spot at the base of the caudal and I don't see this on any pics of adult redheads. So, although I know you may not be able to identify them specifically, can anyone tell me for sure if there is any chance these are young tapajos? These are not the best pics, but they are super hard to catch in a picture! I appreciate any help.
