I am planning on moving my current setup(75g) into an 84g tank(long), basically an upgrade for them(a picture below). That's only if I do end up with gold saum/s.

I really want to keep them there but I have been craving for a gold saum or a pair. Now, will the 75g be alright for one? If it is, how about for a pair? I currently have a Fluval 405, I understand if I'll have to get a new filter for them/him, but I'm hoping that will be sufficient.

P.S. Has anyone had this dilemma before? The community tank of schooling fish is nice but it's like I have no connection to the fish individually. I just feel like if I get one or two big ones, that would help me get "closer" to my fish. I know there's a lot of questions, but I would like to hear your opinions :)

That will def be okay for one. Fish kept alone become very personal and engaging, look into even some bigger ones like maybe a Midas flower horn tilapia or something along this lines, but you can't beat the colors of a happy green terror

A gold saum pair will be fine in a 75 alone you cana add some dithers for more movement and to help distract the pair when they fight with each other

A pair should be fine, upgrade the filtration as the fish matures..
I'm glad to hear it, any suggestions for filters(should I get one or two)? I might just move the Fluval 405 to the 84g.

Trust me if only I had the space for a bigger tank... red terror!

Which dithers would you recommend? Won't they be eaten?

I see, thanks for the recommendation. I would like to keep it from the same area, so I won't be getting the g danios specifically, but now I know what to look for. :)

P.S. Is anyone suggesting I don't switch? I do doubt anyone would though, being in MFK.

The 75g is in my room, upstairs. The rest are in the living room area, downstairs.

Giant Danios are cool but i had a 9+" Male that wiould eat them. he would cornor them then down the hatch. I found that rainbow fish or silver dollars worked best for me.

Here a vid of my old GT and some danios [YT]kbV6ehs6raM[/YT]
