Looking into a gold wolf fish. Can't seem to find to much info on here keeps popping up mala.

So where can I find em? Normal price? Any info that. Takes them apart from mala's. Anyone have a pic of there's.

Looking for a more active wolf. Loved my common but he didn't swim enough for me. Gonna try lower light with plants. But thought a red or a gold might be better suited for me.

Can u do 2 or 3 reds in the same tank.

2 or 3 golds?

Help me

shark aquarium has always been a good source for them. avg price about $70 each?

I sent him a massage. Haven't heard anything back.

I may have to settle with a erythrinus erythrinus.

How long does he take on a collecting trip? I am a newb to the vendor and getting there fish thing lol.

If he is our collecting then I could be getting a gold very soon! Lol

Sociable? Yes. Much like many shoaling predators, they conform to a distinct pecking order. My largest one is about 13-14" now and he/she is the boss.

They are jumpers and in a well covered tank generally gain injuries quite quickly until they've learned it's a bad idea. They can be evil too; one of my babies killed a group of A. Hecklii because he didn't like them; they were all bigger than the gold and shouldn't have been an issue. I've also had them attack nets and hoses, and as you'll see above, they don't wait for their food to be released. But in contrast, I've kept a larger one with everything from Buenos Aires tetras to Dwarf Crenclichla without an issue.

Tank mates? Well other than other Golds, they're pretty good with anything that isn't too big to eat but it is dependant on the individual. I'm keeping the large ones with Cichla, Brycon, Geophagus and a monster Hoplias Curupira while the baby's are kept on their own, though there is a Jaguar Catfish in the grow out to clean up after them (Messy little things).

If you can get them, a group is probably best. Otherwise, one on it's own is ok too. A pair is difficult if they don't get on well. The two larger ones above, seem to get on very well, so haven't been an issue whereas, the medium sized one and the baby weren't such pals.

What is the avg price, can u add then a different times? If u rearrange the tank and throw them off?

I think I may try 3 golds. They lool great.!

O the tank of doom is coming. Slowly sadly. Hopefully with in 2 weeks I will have the stocking list I want in there

No idea what they go for in the States.

Adding at different times isn't too much of an issue from my experience but it may differ between individuals.
