Gulper catfish and pellets?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone gotten their gulper catfish to eat pellets(massivore)? If yes how did you manage to do it?

Mine only eats shrimp and won’t even go near anything else

Diet: Gulper catfish pretty much eat anything, but your best bet is to try to feed you gulpers pellets. if your gulper is refusing to eat pellets you can stuff frozen fish with pellets so your gulpers gets the nutrition he/she needs. Gulpers CAN eat feeder fish but some people will tell you not to do it, Only feed feeders if they are healthy, home bred and your gulper won't take anything else. you can also do frozen food such as shrimp,tilapia and smelt.

My dad had a Gulper when I was growing up. He started out only on pellets, and gave her shrimp or live fish only occasionally as "treats".

Never had an issue getting her to eat them.

Thank you, I have tried to hide a pellet in shrimp but he still doesn’t go near it

That might work. Maybe just cut the shrimp for a while and give him pellets as his only option.

I've never personally had a Gulper, so I'm not sure how one would transition from shrimp to pellets.

Gulpers can go a long time without eating.
I got mine eating repashy shaped as a fish or fillets stuffed with pellets & earthworms!

Thank you will try, mine doesn’t go near worth worms either, his very very fussy
