I've been using the whisper 100 air pumps for a few years now and in the beginning they were really great. They weren't loud and pumped up plenty of air. But slowly they just started getting louder and louder and started pumping less and less air. Now I have 4 air pumps that are really useless. The pump has 2 spots where the air comes out of and the air doesn't come out evenly (if any air comes out at all) and they got so loud it sounds like something is rattling inside and barely any air is coming out. They can't even power a small air stone, literally no bubbles are coming out. I was wondering if anyone else has had these issues with the whisper and if it is possible to fix it.

I had a wisper 400. That I rebuilt, " made functional again. The diaphragms are easy to change out. The problem I encountered was the rubber hinge that the diaphragm mounts too.
I could not find any replacements, so I used aquarium tubing and tooth picks to shim. The magnet vibrator, on the oposite end will get very noisy if these bushings wear out.
If you can't find them, it is not worthwhile to jury rig.

What are you, the 1960's(LOL)............Swap those air pumps with powerheads that allow a venture system....Usually a flex tubing is capable of being connected to todays powerheads.....Once again, LOL(lot of laughs) on my comment about the 1960"s thing............Good luck.......

Lol I'll look into getting powerheads in the future they definitely seem like less of a pain to deal with haha
