My arowana is dying. I have a nice big tank my Nitrate is a little high but everything else is perfect. My problem is it seem that over the course of two days I've watched my beloved fish quickly die before my eyes. Hes a 16 in Silver Arowana and he seems to have gotten fin rot ick and air blader infection all in a blink of an eye. Hes lost almost all color and it seems his scales are shedding. I don't know what to do and this is my first time ever using this site so please help.

Had this happen to my first arowana. I believe it was caused by feeding it shrimp with the shell on. The shell tore up its stomach and it got an infection. I hope this isn't the case with yours.

No I've been feeding it pellets. I just did a 30% water change and added some salt but hes just laying on bottom and breathing heavy.

I have a brown african knife, a dragon fish, and a pleco, they all seem great.

The conditions you are describing are almost certainly environmental. I would check all parameters and go from there. Water changes are your best friend.

How large is your tank and what was actual nitrate reading?
