HELP! My crawdad escaped last night!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wait 1 week, then follow the smell. No seriously, it could be anywhere. I had two escape within a week of each other, and never saw them again.

In a house where they have zero access to water or wet ground, I'd say a few hours at most. It is believed that the can survive a month or two out of water if they can keep their gills moist, but I don't think that's the case.

My crayfish escaped and I found her 4 days later on the main floor. My room is in the basement, I have no idea how she got up there. But whats more baffling is that she was alive. I still have her.

just look around as much as possible and don't give up, those things can live through a hell of a beating - like the first person said check all possible dark places that you can

Well, i can't seem to find her. I even pulled out my fridge, tipped it over, looked underneath, pulled off the back... tipped over the washer and dryer.... i have a small house and not that many places to hide. the crayfish is about 6" long not including claws... Where the heck could she have gone?

check crevices and dark places
