Help sexing Jaguar cichlid

Although the photos below are not managuense (they are motaguense) this gender trait usually applies to all species in the genus Parachromis

Below is a female, unlike yours the lower gill pate and lower jaw are devoid of spots

You may also notice the profile of the female is much more torpedo shaped, male less so
in managuense this shape develops as the male ages.
I see it in your male, but at only 5-6" it is less apparent than when the male is older, and has a more dominant alfa status.
