Hi all,

Recently got 3 red spot severums and 2 paired off and have eggs in less than a week... just trying to determine which the male is and which the female is.

I took a few pics... tried to get the vent area. Not sure if the pics are good enough to help determine their sex, as I’ve read the reds are harder...

The fish in the first picture with the thicker breeding tube is the female. The male is in the second picture with the thinner, more pointed tube.

Note that the female’s face is more solid red while the male’s has more space between the spots/striation.
