Well, last week it finally happened. My 135 sprung a leak and I had to tear the whole thing down. You never think it will happen to you until it does. Anyway, I have started resealing the tank. During the process I got to thinking and I might be ready for a change. I have always enjoyed new world cichlids and have kept them since I first started keeping fish. However, I'd like to try something new and something different. I'd like something that gets pretty big and has personality.

I have 2 ideas for this tank. The first is a lungfish and the second is one or two polys. My first worry is the size of the tank. Next, I'm wondering about the aesthetics. Both polys and lungfish come off as being someone inactive. So, if I kept them, is there something I could keep with them so that there is activity in the tank.

Please, give me your thoughts on my suggestions and make some of your own. This tank will be moving to the living room and will see a lot of attention so, I'd like it to be eye catching. Thanks everyone.

I keep a endlicheri poly and an albino poly with my fire eel inside a 55 for the time being. They should fit fine in a 130 even at full growth. The albino poly is pretty active always cruising around the bottom, same with the endlicheri but he like to chill out in the sand a bit more. Otherwise for the most part these two get along real well and will hang out together, mine are atleast a great pair/trio Fire eel will stick where ever he find a small home he feels comfortable in and stay inside it most the day coming out at night to be naughty and try and escape from the tank. (Caught him several times and they are very smart) lungfish never really appealed to me.
