Hi, there is a store here in Japan that is holding 2 "Channa Amphibious".
The price is only available upon calling (which I will do tomorrow)
They say this is a pretty rare snakehead, so of course i'm interested in purchasing.

Does anyone have any SOLID info on these? I have searched and am getting conflicting results (max size 25cm one place, 90cm other place, different descriptions of color etc)

These are going to be quite a high price, so I wish to make sure I get what they are saying they are.
Searching I have only found a drawing that's doing the rounds on the internet.
A real photo would be very helpfull.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

there are NO photos of amphibeus. Its more rare than barca. Go and make pictures in the shop. I defo think they are NO real amphibeus.

Cheers

Hi,only time will tell if c. amphibeus exists or not,new species are discovered every now and then so hold on!

Got a pic. I doubt that they would have two C. Barcas (called C. Amphibious here in Japan) My best guess would be C aurantimaculata.

What price are they going for? Anything less than $3.5K-$4K US dollars and they are not barcas.

Has been confirmed as Barca not Amphibious.
Price is 210,000yen.
Not a bad price, and am very tempted. Just have to justify to the wife!

I would still be very careful, where are you getting it from? If you don't say on a pulic forum PM me.

Is Amphibious a extinct species these days :( ?
