Here is one of my pairs from my Herichthys Carpintis group. They are Escondido locality's. They are both roughly 3.5 - 4 inches long atm. They are not yet proven, so still
waiting for them to spawn. I know it may be a bit, they are still quite young.
Here is my other pair that formed. This is in a different tank with different lighting with a different camera lol. They looked washed out in the pics but they have every bit of color the other pair has.
Neither pair has spawned yet though.
I still have 4 left in the main group, so I am hoping to get at least one more pair out of the group.
I only plan on keeping one pair but figured the more pairs the better my chances are at an amazing looking pair. The male in this pair though is starting to show some really
nice worming in the face. I may try to get some better pictures tomorrow.
Took mine about a year to reach spawning maturity/size from 1/2".
The egg crate is a great idea, carpintus males can be very hard on females, but if there is threat on the other side, it makes the pair bond solidify.
My chairel pair spawned, with 3 others just across the divider.
