Saw this guy at a LFS today, wasn't sure if this was hole in head. The LFS is usually well kept compared to others. I would general trust the fish they sell.
This one was a little big for the current tank. Exposed heater knocked off the wall. Could this be hole in head or just damage from the current tank conditions
If it is hole in head, should I avoid buying this fish??

THANK YOU

I agree, looks like HITH.
Probably being an Orinoco species, it is very sentitive to water parameters that do not coinside with the acidic (5 to 6.5) pH. and soft, tannin saturated waters of the that river system.
If you can provide those water parameters, and are able to do enough water changes to bring nitrate to a constant level under 5 ppm, you might have a chance at reversing the infections.

Thank you everyone! I might pass on him even though his colors are awesome.

I’ve heard orinos are more aggressive generally than other peacock bass and I plan on adding some Oscar’s and 9-11 inch senegal bichirs. I’m worried about issues down the road with my other fish. Looking for a kelberi ideally
