Hi guys, i'm new to MFK community. I'm saying hello to everybody. I was recently given two leopard catfish from my friend who was overwhelmed by it, because the fish actually consider their tank mate as dinner. The fish is roughly 50 cm right now and i'm keeping them in my 2000 gallon pond which is stock with 3 bichir, 2 oscar and 4 pacus, i was worried over time the catfish will outgrow the oscar and eat it, would it be possible? Any comment will be great thanks.

The only cat that I have heard of referred to as Leopard catfish is the RTCxTSN hybrid, and if that is what you have, then you have a monster on your hands. It should get around 4ft or more, but I'm not sure that anyone has grown one to "full" size. You've got a good start by having it in a pond. If it is infact this hybrid it may eat everything you have listed except probably the pacus if they're big enough.

if you have a 2000 you dont need to know this
but the indian leopard can get 120 lbs

Could be a marbled cat. But to be sure, we need pics.

pics please, too much speculation without them. could be massive jaguars or rtc x tsn who knows, big differance between the two.

pics would be needed for proper ID different areas have different common names for fish.

tropical fish distributors has leopard catfish (h. wyckioides) if that happens to be the same common name leopard cat you got you're in for a good ole time. that would be an Asian Red Tail Catfish. search the boards here about artc and you will learn all you need to know about your baby. is it grayish brown with a red tail?

You know, I wish people that started threads would reply... It gets really annoying waiting two days for a reply.
