I was thinking is possible to keep Peacock Bass pair in 180 gal tank. Already have pair fairly large Oscars 10"-12" and 3 pleco... like monoculus and ocellaris... what size tanks your normally have...?

Probably 400 gal atleast!!!

So my 180g is bit too small 6feet*2feet*2feet... :(

Damn i like cichla monoculus . Should my tank size limit the fishes size ?

The bass would probable still grow to full size, but to keep a fast moving 2ft beast in that size tank would be basically cruel.

It would take them a good few years to get to the monsterous kind of size.

Tank size does not restrict fish size, that is a misconception. It will only slow down the growth rate of the fish, and make them extremely miserable. If you can't afford the 300-400g tank for those, move on to something else for the fish's sake.

250 gal for one specimen only .. if you plan to rasie it to adulthood .. if the biofiltration is large enough you can house a fish large enough that his nose and tail touch opposite side''s of the tank , but the question is do you really wanna do that to the fish???? :D

Ok you are probably right . What could i put to there?: requiments are Colorful , predator , from peru.

Monos dont get that big compaired to Tem's but still 2 big for a 180 but I would say get some jag's with your Oscars... I think that would be a nice combo!!!

I am affraid of agressive cichlids i tried to keep small midas with my oscars , but it beat my other oscar really badly so i am affraid to buy jaguar.
What else would be good... ?
