Well I went to a LFS with absolutely no intentions of buying a fish and walked out with what was labeled as a retro but I have corrected them on bichir IDs in the past(they had a lap labeled as a polli) and this time I had to tell them that the dabola they had was just a variant of endl both were great prices the 3.5" retro was $25 and the 2.5" dabola was $20 so I couldn't pass up the one marked retro but I'm not sure if it is a retro or a butt and of course all my tank lights were off and I didn't feel like messing with the timer to turn them back on so I didn't get a pic but will try tomorrow assuming he isn't hiding in all the moss in the grow out tank. So what is the easiest way to tell the difference in the 2. Truthfully I want one of each type of upperjaw bichir and all I was lacking is a palmas, retro, butt, and the one I will probably never find the meridionales so I will be happy to knock one more off my list assuming it isn't a 3rd polli
