Someone gave me an albino pleco about 6-7 inches and a large tinfoil barb 7 inches. I wanted this other fish at the store so I gave the pleco and the barb to the LFS for credit . The LFS only gave me $13 in store credit for the two fishes. Do you think that was fair?

I bought my albino for $1.50 at 2". They're fairly common and harder to sell as they grow due to the amount of mess they make and the average size home aquarium people are looking to fill with similar-size fish.
Never expect to make anywhere near the retail prices you see in stores. A considerable markup is needed just to pay for tank space running costs.
