Hey all, just wondering if anyone has experienced better overall fish growth using one type of fish food or another? Any suggestions on what to use or how to feed will be greatly appreciated.

IME its not so much one type of food over another for enhanced growth. Feeding a variety can help keep your fish healthy and healthy fish grow the fastest. (I dont mean a variety of pellets, but combining pellets and veggies or frozen food). How often and how much you feed them may be a factor too. In a roomy tank I raised an oscar, a GT and many convicts. With ample room and a couple reasonably sized feedings a day they all grew quite quickly.

I've seen people consider the larger tank the faster a big fish will grow varied diet and lots of water changes. Things i've noticed myself when fish grow faster is just a larger tank and weekly water changes. But nothing can make a fish grow past a max size and the genes have a lot to play just like humans. So if the fish just isn't meant to grow really big then it won't so there is no exact way except some growth hormones or injection these things will assist and make it more likely.

With my LMB I have found if you feed big meals instead of alot of small meals they will put on the inches fast along with girth. Figure out what the largest food your fish can eat and when they beg for food feed big. If you feed small items they get full but if they eat one or two big items it's more than the small items. This with good water works for me. My LMB is in a 450g. Not sure if the tank size makes a difference but it can't hurt.
