How to tell male or female ??

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and I am new to Peacock Bass, but I love their moster size.

wonder if anyone know how to tell if they are male or female?

I bought a pair of them last week from local fish store. They are about 6 inches.

Cant wait till they were full grown and hopefully its a pair

Sexing can be difficult depending on species. What do you have?

Google venting fish. That's one of the only ways to do it before you know it's a male from a nuchal hump.

I had token some pic this afternoon

Sorry if the image is not that good

they were about 8-9 inches long

they hardly fight against each other, wonder if they were a pair....

If anyone could give me better idea how to ID male or female....

Those are Tems. And you will have to vent them to id the sex.

yeah definatly have to vent them cause they look almost identical to me from the pics. now venting, i dont know what to tell you on hat, but im shure you can google it or something, good luck let us know if you find out how to do it, and what you find.

V=male U=Female At least that is pretty much what i seen this weekened

But for along tiem both look like males V and then after they get LARGer they will staert to look different.. If you pull them out and flip them upside down it you may be able to tell now still it can take a trained eye..
