Almost finished with this 40B, looking for suggestions on stocking.
Tank is unheated in my basement, but the ambient air temperatures can range from 55 - 82 F (12 - 28 C) depending on the time of year which rules out some species that can't handle the warmer temperatures. High temperatures are not long lasting, a couple weeks or so depending on when we get the window AC unit put in for the summer.
I currently have a green sunfish who I could put in there, but it's certainly not the most active fish and I suspect there are better choices for a tank like this. I love my sunfish, but it likes to lurk around, come out to slowly swim around, lurk again and repeat all day.
If this were your tank, how would you stock it?
