How's the Malawi Trout Cichlid?

I might be ordering an f1 trio of malawi trouts and need opinions. I'd just gotten into them and would love to see pics of yours. Thanks.

Hello, The trouts are a really neat fish in my opinion. I used to have a breeding group and loved em. The only thing I can say is that if you get them young they arent much to look at. Mine colored up at around 8-9". The finnage started around the same time. Mine have not been very aggressive at all. I actually have a large male in my mixed hap tank. He gets along fine with the other fish (Rostratus, Moorii, Christyi). Heres a pic of my male. Hes about 10" now from tip to tail . enjoy.

nice! i used to have malawi eye biters (dimidochromis compressiceps) (look at my avatar there is the male out of my old breeding colony) but those are amazing! partheaad :what size tank did u have your breeders in?

Yeah its a moorii and the aquarium is a standard 220 cornerflow. Tydus you should definitely pick up a couple. I like them because they arent your run of the mill africans. You will surely enjoy them.
