I’m in Lithia. Family was safe at home. Had a lot of rain and broken tree limbs and small branches. No loss of power. Hospitals locked down and had to stay in and cover. Got through it. Wishing the best for my fellow Floridians who are needing help.

Vidalia, Georgia/ Brooklet, Georgia
Bulloch County, Ga, has been hard at work. Almost all trees have been removed from the roads, most of the county has power, and grocery stores have been open since Saturday. We've had Electric companies from Canada and California, here helping restore power, and aside from severely tree damaged houses Bulloch looks alot better. Schools are expected to re-open next Monday, though, to ensure all the dirt roads are safe for buses. Vidalia hasn't been as fast, though. I was able to remove the trees from off my house, but it's unusable. Went from a 3,200sq.ft. 2 story, to a flat dump. Thanks to my insurance, I'm not expected to be even attempting to rebuild my house until February 2026, and it'll cost me well over $800,000 to get it back to how it was. They've decided to cover $280,000 which s nice but nowhere near helpful. Neighbors have been helpful in helping removing their trees, though. Unfortunately, I lost 2 Aba Aba's in that house, which was upsetting because they were the only two I had.

This next tropical storm, Kurk... depending on it's severity could possibly undo all of the hardwork put in to restoring everything. Hopefully it remains a 'storm' as opposed to a category 4 hurricane, otherwise I could lose my house here in Brooklet as well. My neighbor has multiple large pine trees that could easily split through my house like a butter knife. I'm hoping the wind is in my favor again, and blows the trees the opposite direction, instead of right over my house.

Also haven't heard anything from my parents, which is slightly disturbing. They are in Brunswick, Ga. Not sure if they have cellphone service. Would go check on them but Brunswick is an hour+ away from Bulloch county, and due to my job I don't have any time off this week, only a possibility of Sunday.

I’m about 20 miles east of Asheville NC.
Pure and utter devastation!
we were lucky for the most part my home was spared. Still no power since last Thursday night.
Neighbors on all sides of me have trees through their house.
My son lives in Asheville he had a last minute trip to make out of town and it most likely saved his life.
He’s lost everything that he didn’t have with him. He literally only has what clothes he took with him.
He lived in a second floor apartment and the water got to 3 feet high in his apartment on the second floor!
He lost a car but I’m thankful he’s ok.
This is what it looks like today

We have friends and family the live higher up in the mountains here they are stranded. All the roads have been washed out national guard if air lifting people out and dropping aid to the ones they can fly out.
Many of the more rural community have been just completely been washed off the map.
Many people missing.
One family were in their home when it was taken by a mud slide searchers found one in the river and rushed him to the hospital in critical condition but the rest are still missing.
This is so bad the picture on television do not show the existence of the destruction. It is apocalyptic.

BIG-G BIG-G , I am glad that you are relatively unscathed by the devastation and that your son was safe out of town but so sorry he lost everything in the flooding.

My heart goes out to everyone that has suffered through this destruction. I can't believe how massive this storm impacted so many people and states with the high level of flooding.
