About a year ago I bout 9 jewel cichlids at my lfs and last month decided to pick the two best looking for breeding. Out of the 9 I had 3 blood red jewels and 6 neon jewels, and all 3 blood red were male and all 6 neons were female lol. New pics, this is the largest batch of babies I've ever gotten from jewels. I'm guessing there's over five hundred babies lol... The babies will be getting there own 55 within a month or so

Are you selling fry? Is that red just a breeding dress or is it their natural color? I've seen jewels like them just with out such intense red.

I do think they both are H. cristatus.

Male and female coloration are very distinct from one another. If somebody knows better, then tell me what the species are, please.
