i dont get it.....plz help

i setup a 90.
i took 5 fish from my pond and put them in the 90 to cycle it.
fish were healthy lookin when i got them from the pond.
put them in the 90,they start to show ich.
no heater or salt at this point.
then they start to get fin rot or something.
so i add salt,wait a few days.
the ich and rot got worse.
so next i added a heater.jacked it up to around 83.
few days later,now theres ich,fin rot,and now brown spots.

this really sucks,my bass want in there new home but the tank is going the wrong way.
now im scared to add my bass,ever,thinking they could get it.also keep thinking i will never be able to rid this from my diy w/d.

How did you move them.. Did you just toss them in the tank? was the tank the same temp as the pond?

Ich has no really proven cause.. Though it is more prevelent when you have huge changes in environment.. and water quality.. Fin rot is Mailny Stress and mainly stress from bad water conditions ..

Disease should be expected from cycling tank with fish .. Doesn't always happen; but the thing to remember, is the reason we cycle is because the water is not suitible in a newly set up tank to support fish life. And anything you put in it is going to STRESS no matter what. That also means anything you put in it will be succeptible to a number of issues

Some of which include disease, internal damage or Death ..

But can you answer the questions up top so we can give you a more specific opinion

yes,i just tossed them in.
i would guess at that time,the temps were close.
its about 76 in here and it was around that outside at that time.
but i really have no clue if it was close

THorw a thermometer in there the next time you think it's close so you can judge the pond verses your tank...

How long was the tank filled before you put the fish in and did you gage it with your hand or how did you come to the conclusion that the tank was at room temp? was it up a couple days before you filled it? Di you fill it with your tap?

really,i have no clue on temps.just know there wasnt a heater and outside it was a cool day lol

Even a change of two degrees is enough to shock and weaken a fish. pH is most likely lower in the pond which will also shock the fish. As said above, you cycle to make the water suitable for aquatic life. I don't know how big your fish are, but I'm sure your filter was not ready to handle the waste from them. Hindsight being 20/20, next time add fish one at a time over a period of weeks to allow your filter to catch up. Also, drip acclimation over a period of hours is much safer than just transferring the fish. Good Luck.

there is no "crap" in your tank. When you just tossed your pond fish in the new tank it stressed them out. Temp shock, rapid ph swing and the entire move and envrioment change severly shocked your fish. Next time you might want to acclimate when moving fish, that can all be avoided with acclimation.
