ID this malawi cichlid plz

Is this a kenyi cichlid? If not, what's it? Also what's its gender?

Looks like a female Kenyi to me. It’s young though, and there is a bluish sheen, but there’s no eggs spots, so I’d say female

A picture of the fish in water would be easier to identify. It doesn't look like a kenyi to me, the orange colored dorsal fin looks more labidochromis hongi or metriaclima greshakei.

Absolutely not a hongi. Kept them for years. Could be a perlmutt though now that you mention labs
