Good evening, owner of 6 inch SAL here. Got the little guy in a 20 long right now. My question is in regards to moving him and growth rate. I have a 150 in the den with 7 3 inch silver dollars in it. However its a very odd "tall" variety tank. I'm paranoid about messing the little guys growth up and stunting or slowing his progress but also don't want him to die or struggle in a tank that's too tall for him to get air, or has fish you think may bully him. Should I keep him in the 20 long and if so for,how long? Should I move him to big tank and just get some, floating plants for,him to chill on? Or should I drain the tank to 1/3 depth and move him to big tank so he has the lengthbenefits without the depth struggles? Thanks guys

My lungfish don't have a problem coming up for Air. Maybe easier for them with a shorter thank but as long as u give them ample space to stick their noses out they should be fine.

The tank is almost 40 inches tall. Do,you think a 6 inch SAL will be okay with a tank that deep?

That's a tall tank. Personally I wouldn't worry. But if u are worried go to the dollar store and get a small basket and float it with some styrofoam. I did that for mine when he was 5 inches
