I have a couple of ?'s I would like to ask. what is the max size tarpon have u seen in a home tank?And which spec. is the one with the little look alike stinger on the top fin?And how can we tell which one is a Megalops cyprinoides or a Megalops atlanticus???

the biggest i've seen is a 14" specimen owned by a member here.
both species have the extend filament at the dorsal fin.
not sure on how you can tell the difference as I've never seen a small atlantic tarpon... but I guess since they're not available in the hobby you can be pretty sure that yours are pacific tarpons.

I know that both spec. has the thing on the dorsal but I just wanted know know why some dont have that extend filament at the dorsal fin.I just wanted to make sure that we get the right spec. and not the ones that get hella big
