I finally did enough convincing to get the wifey to OK my garage pond. I have absolutely no wood working skills so I am thinking about using cinderblocks. The dimensions I'm going for is 8'Lx4'Wx4'H. I have a few questions though...

I know plywood sheets come in 8x4 so could I just get the plywood sheets put up 4 walls held together by corner brackets and then use cinderblocks on the outer perimeter so that it would hold the weight of the water? I plan on having it insulated as well so from the outside layer going in it will be.. cinder blocks, plywood, insulation board, soft liner, pond liner and finally tile on the floor on top of the pond liner. Will this work or will this have me end up with 900 gallon of water in my garage? I'm open to any suggestions at this point. I'm just trying to come up with the easiest non woodworking way possible.

I thought of something similar in the past.Hope someone chimes in with tips and advice.

after doing a little more searching and thinking about it i'm gona abandon this idea but have come up with a few more that may be cheaper thanks to some threads i've seen on here. i'm going to post it in the diy forum to hopefully get more replies.

What do you mean by "use cinder blocks"? Are you planning on mortaring them together? Or just stacking them against the plywood? I wouldn't think just stacking them will hold much water pressure, and if you are going to cement, why use plywood and liner? Fill the blocks with mortar and rebar drilled into the floor, seal and fill.

Kinda what I had in mind.
