Indoor Pond

I’m the process of remodeling my fish room. The big addition is going to be a 1100 gallon indoor pond to house my Stingrays and a few other fun things. This is my first attempt at building a pond. I watched just about every YouTube video out there and read a ton of different posts on MFK. Ultimately I decided to go with a design similar to what Joey on DIY King did for his predator pond. Ideally I would have loved to get a large tank vs building a pond. But I was limited in the size tank bu the door way into the fish room. So a pond seemed like the next best option. I didn’t do a window simply to save on costs and time building. This one this will mainly be for breeding rays, the look down only still will show the rays well.
Just thought I would share a few pics as I am building. Please let me know thoughts, Opinions/Suggestions. This is my first attempt so figuring out a lot along the way ....
I am a experienced hobbies with my share of large tanks. Just never did a pond before

I will be doing a three barrel set up for the filter and using an external pump. I went with the external pump because I didn’t want to cut the liner for bulk heads or have a pump sitting in the pond. I am using a 30 mil blue liner. Wanted to do a 45 mil liner, but I could only find in black. BD rays on black liner just didn’t make sense. Hoping 30 mil should be thick enough?? Especially since this is indoors and temp controlled. I will be booking up a heat exchanger off my hot water tank to control temp.
Any advice on this set up from people who have done it ?
Thanks
Tom

I am using a liner vs epoxy. Simply did this for cost and time. Significantly cheaper using a liner vs buying gallons of epoxy. Since I’m not doing a viewing window , didnt see the benefit of epoxy. I will be using a layer of foam board insulation against the ply wood before installing the liner

Any updates on the build? How do you think the liner will hold up against stingray baths? Thanks

I missed this build. I have a 300g stock tank for my polys and really miss seeing their faces. So I'm designing a plywood build to give more space and have a window. I'm going to go with epoxy though for ease of putting in the window. I'd really like to see an update also!

Very nice...I'm torn between doing a plywood with window and pond armor or doing a liner with no window
