I found this article to be super useful and over 10 years of keeping cichla, i just learned something new. Cichla Temensis ( Speckled Peacock Bass ) actually grow slower at higher temps. This article can be difficult to read if you dont understand a lot of this scientific form, But scroll through and it will make sense.

This study poses a ton of interesting questions such as
1: Is the limiting factor in growth the dissolved oxygen or temperature?
2: is this response metabolic or behavioral, It would track during the wet season is when the greatest food volume of food is available but also when the water is the coldest, If so, could this experiment be replicated with captive bred bass?
3: Could shifts in temperature affect growth? say a period of hot and period of cold?
4: does this apply to all chicha? I assume they would respond better to different temperature ranges, however could some prefer higher than tems? lower?

Studies are awesome, but most of the time i find myself asking wayyy more questions after one. And dumb questions that a grant would never fund, oh well.
