O-0-10 for water params. Came home from vacation with one of my adfs like this. Its still eating and behaving normal. What do? My hospital tank is currently occupied. I do 30% water changes 2-3 times per week.

Looks like it may have bashed its head on the lid or some decor, and like it could have gotten infected.
Treatment in a hospital tank would be ideal (these guys don’t need much space). I don’t know how amphibians respond to different antibiotics. kno4te kno4te any insight?
Presumably kanaplex or neoplex could work.

I moved him into a cup. Ill swap out the water with tank water 2-3 times a day.

Idk how to treat this in a 8 oz cup lol.

A gallon container with an airstone would be better. Meds are really all dosage dependent though, so as long as you dose to the water volume it’s in it should be fine.

Not sure about amphibians. Not sure if adf can absorb meds through the water. Would try a little salt if able. Apply some hydrogen peroxide and after mix, 50:50, to the area with a qtip.

They breath atmospheric air, it’s more for circulation of the meds in this case.
Gotcha. Moved him to a bigger tub. Gonna buy an airstone.
Hopefully the guy you @'d comes in with his 2 cents as well. Was leaning towards neoplex but def need the help of an amphib expert lol.

Given that it’s an external issue, internal antibiotics won’t do much.
I’ll defer to kno4te kno4te ’s expertise here for the topical treatment.
I just did some quick reading and saw that neosporin can be used for some infections, but I’m not sure how an aquatic frog would complicate this.
