Installing a Utility Sink in my Garage

I decided that I needed a utility sink in my garage. The biggest problem would be how to get a drain and water out to the garage. I did some measuring and it couldn't have lined up any better then it is. I went and rented a big concrete core cutter from Home Depot. This thing looked like a gaint drill press with a base that used a huge stand alone vacuum pump to hold the base in place. It also had a pressurized water tank to feed a constant supply of water to the 18" long 5" diameter diamond core bit. I set the press up at a 45 degree angle and drilled down at an angle into my basement. The hole comes out behind a wall and into my laundry room where I am going to run the drain to tie into the main drain in the house as well as use flexible PEX pipe to tie into both hot and cold water.

18" was almost not deep enough. I had to break the very last par off.

I finished the install of the sink.

This is where the hole comes out behind the left corner of the entertainment wall. The utility room is to the right of this corner on the other side of the wall.

This is where the hole comes out. If you look you can see the two water lines and just above it is the black drain pipe I ran.

Inside the laundry room. The drain pipe comes out and elbows down along the wall for the main drain line.

Here is where the drain ties into the main house drain.

Here the flexible pex line snakes around and tee's into both hot and cold water. One line for each.

I installed the drain trap and shutoff valves and have the whole sink hooked up. I filled the remainder of the hole up with expanding foam.
